Launching Explore 2 project !

Page mise à jour le 12/02/2024

In the face of climate change, it is essential to develop water management strategies. The provision of knowledge concerning the impacts of climate change on hydrology and the support of stakeholders are necessary for the development of these strategies. These are the main objectives of the Explore2 project that has just begun.

The Explore2 project, led by « l’Institut National de Recherche pour l’Agriculture, l’alimentation et l’Environnement » (INRAE) and supported by the « Office Internationale de l’Eau (OiEau), follows the Explore 2070 study (2010-2012). It is funded by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition and the French Office for Biodiversity.

Launched in 2021 for a period of three years, this project aims to update knowledge on the impact of climate change on hydrology based on the latest publications of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) , but also to support territorial stakeholders in understanding and using these results so that they can adapt their water resource management strategies.

There will be synergies between the Explore2 project and the “LIFE Eau&Climat” project, in particular with the use and dissemination of Explore2 results in “LIFE Eau&Climat” project actions.
