The Loire-Bretagne Water Agency and HYDREOS co-organized an information session on the LIFE Eau&Climat project on November 21, 2023, in Orléans.
The day began with a speech by Martin Gutton, Director General of the Agence, followed by a presentation of news from the basin on HMUC studies. The highly heterogeneous impact of climate change on the Loire Bretagne basin has led to the emergence of problems and issues specific to each territory (loss of snow cover, risk of marine submersion, etc.), which are superimposed on the cross-cutting issues of water quality and quantity.
Over forty people attended, most of them water managers, representing all the different sub-catchment areas of the Loire-Bretagne basin. The scientific partners took it in turns to present the progress of their water management tools in the context of climate change. The day was punctuated by a rich exchange of views, and ended with a café du territoire presenting the vulnerability diagnoses carried out by the SAGE Sioule and the SAGE Yèvre-Auron.
Above all, the day was an opportunity to bring together local players to discuss their difficulties and possible futures. To the question: how do you intend to appropriate the tools presented during the day? Some will use the tools for their HMUC study, while others will remember the importance of consulting stakeholders at the start of their project or action. This day will certainly have raised many questions, and answers can still be found later, with the next training courses (first half of 2024) and the upcoming MOOC of the Explore2 project, the tools currently being finalized and the updating of feedback on gesteau.fr.
