From the presentation of the future hydro-climatic context to the operational use of data, the seminar ‘Keys to tomorrow's water management’ was packed with information. This joint event between the Explore2 and LIFE Eau&Climat projects was held on 28 June 2024 on the premises of the French Ministry for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, in Paris. The Explore2 and LIFE Eau&Climat project feedback seminar, entitled ‘Keys to tomorrow's water management’, was attended by 126 face-to-face participants in Paris and 474 remote participants on 28 June.
The event, moderated by Valéry-Paul Dubois, began with four keynote speeches from Pierre-Edouard Guillain of the French Ministry for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, Philippe Mauguin, Chairman and CEO of INRAE, Éric Tardieu, Director General of OiEau and Diana Oancéa, project advisor for the European Commission. The two projects were presented by their coordinators: Éric Sauquet for Explore2 (INRAE) and Sonia Siauve for LIFE Eau&Climat (OiEau).
Four sessions followed in which some of the project partners presented the main results and tools produced:
- Future hydro-climatic context in France
- Appropriation of results
- Operational use of data for management practices / through studies
- Operational use of data for management practices / through deliverables
Each session included question-and-answer sessions between the audience and the various speakers. During the coffee and lunch breaks, it was also possible to wander between the project posters: partner actions, presentations, project results, etc., all to a background of music composed using Explore2 river flow simulations.
The day ended with Éric Sauquet and Sonia Siauve summarising the messages conveyed by the two projects.
