The LIFE Eau&Climat project was recently presented at two events: a webconference on rivers and climate change on 10 January and the Carrefour des gestions locales de l'eau in Rennes on 22 and 23 January.
Webconference ‘Rivers and climate change: what consequences?’, 10 January 2025
As part of the Watercourse Resource Centre, the Office Français de la Biodiversité organised a webconference on the subject of ‘Watercourses and climate change: what consequences’, with technical support from the International Office for Water.
Jean-Philippe Vidal from INRAE spoke about some of the results of the LIFE Eau&Climat project: the DRIAS-Eau portal, the MEANDRE portal, the white paper on retrospective and prospective studies and the links with the Explore2 project.
This web conference attracted almost 600 participants.

Carrefour des Gestions locales de l'eau in Rennes, 22 and 23 January 2025
On 22 and 23 January 2025, Sonia Siauve (Office International de l'Eau), coordinator of the LIFE Eau&Climat project, took part in the annual French conference, the ‘Carrefour des Gestions Locales de l'Eau’ organised by idealCO, bringing together some 16,000 participants and 600 exhibitors. This event is an opportunity for regions, local authorities, water managers, solution providers and consultancies to exchange ideas. The conference is a not-to-be-missed event for all those involved in the water sector in France. At each of its annual editions, OiEau has an official stand, presents emblematic projects and even sets up themed educational areas.
This year, Sonia Siauve took part in disseminating the results of the project via :
- The Layman report (which summarises the project) and the EPTB Vienne guide to water saving (action ‘Facilitate the mobilisation of local players’) were distributed at the OiEau stand on 22 and 23 January,
- The presentation of the project's results and key messages at the innovation pavilion of the Water competitiveness clusters, during a 1-hour workshop on 23 January, followed by the presentation of 6 innovative solutions, all of which had one thing in common: the collection, analysis and use of local data to help local players better understand the impact of climate change on their area and improve its resilience.
The project was also promoted and explained to conference participants by EPTB Charente, on their stand in the educational area dedicated to alternative water management solutions, including nature-based solutions.
