Co-organised with the Water Agencies, Aquanova (formerly HYDREOS) has set up information sessions to present the main results of the LIFE Eau&Climat project.
Thursday 16 November 2023 : Adour Garonne Water Agency
=> The program
The first of the sessions took place at the Adour Garonne Water Agency. A total of 80 people attended and discussed water management and climate change. The participants were mainly SAGE coordinators and Water Agency staff, but also representatives of the departmental council, the chairman of the scientific council, the Cesbio laboratory, etc.
In the first part, the scientific partners, Actierra, INRAE, Météo-France and OiEau presented the main tools developed for water managers. Participants were able to discover tools focusing on hydro-climatic data: where to find it, how to collect it and how to manipulate it. Discussions then continued on the "post-data" phase. Once vulnerability assessments, adaptation trajectories or prospective studies have been carried out, what do we do? Anne-Paule METTOUX-PETCHIMOUTOU, a sociologist at OiEau, then spoke about her work on mobilising stakeholders and the importance of thinking upstream about involving stakeholders in a project.
Various regional partners, namely EPTB Charentes, SMAVD, SMEAG and Syndicat Mixte Célé-Lot médian, then shared their experience of experimentation and, above all, critical and concrete feedback on their action(s). Finally, to round off a day rich in exchanges, the Director General of the Adour Garonne Water Agency, Guillaume CHOISY, took the floor to salute the importance of these projects and actions in the current context of climate change: "We need to accept, communicate and better explain these adaptation trajectories. It's not too late, we still have around ten years to adapt, let's not wait any longer".

Tuesday 21 November 2023 : Loire Bretagne Water Agency
=> The program
A session was then held in Orléans at the Loire Bretagne Water Agency. The day began with a speech by the Agency's Director General, Martin Gutton, followed by a presentation of the latest news from the basin's HMUC (Hydrology, Environments, Uses, Climate) studies. The highly heterogeneous impact of climate change on the Loire Bretagne basin is giving rise to problems and issues specific to the regions (loss of snow cover, risk of marine submersion, etc.) which are superimposed on the cross-cutting issues of water quality and quantity.
Over forty people attended, most of them water managers, representing all the different sub-catchment areas of the Loire-Bretagne basin. The scientific partners took it in turns to present the progress made with tools for managing water in the context of climate change. The day was punctuated by a rich exchange of views, and closed with a regional café presenting the vulnerability assessments carried out by EP Loire for the Sioule SAGE and the Yèvre-Auron SAGE.
Above all, the day was an opportunity to bring together local players to discuss the difficulties faced by each of them and possible futures. To the question: how do you plan to use the tools presented during the day? Some will use the tools for their HMUC study, while others will remember the importance of consulting stakeholders at the start of their project or action.

Thursday 30 November 2023 : Artois Picardie Water Agency
The third session took place at the Artois-Picardy Water Agency in Douai. In a shorter format, the project was presented at a meeting dedicated to the region's SAGEs. Around twenty SAGE coordinators were able to discover Actierra's tools and the "Mobilisation of stakeholders" action.

Tuesday 12 December 2023 : Seine Normandy Water Agency
This fourth session took place remotely over half a day. The project was presented as part of the SAGE club run by the Agency. For the occasion, this 5th club was enlarged and welcomed, in addition to the basin coordinators, the territorial directorates and the climate referents of the State services. The club began with a presentation of the Seine-Normandy basin's climate change adaptation strategy.
This was followed by an overview of the LIFE Water&Climate deliverables and a focus on :
- the "Adaptation strategy" tool presented by Actierra,
- 2 feedback reports on the "Adaptation Strategy" tool presented by SMEAG for the Garonne Valley SAGE and EP Loire for the Yèvre-Auron SAGE.
Friday 5 April 2024 : Rhine Meuse Water Agency
An information session was held at the Rhine Meuse Water Agency in Rozérieulles on 5 April. The day began with the Agency speaking about its climate change adaptation and mitigation plan. Around fifty participants, including SAGE coordinators, Agency staff and elected members of the basin committee, were able to discover the main tools of the LIFE Eau&Climat project.
In terms of feedback from experimentation, the Agency opted to focus on Actierra's tools, with a two-voice Actierra/SMEAG presentation to bridge the gap between theory and practice. The floor was then given to a partner from the Rhine Meuse basin: the Grand Est Region. They have been working on the creation of a citizen observatory for the Ferrifère Basin SAGE.
